We have been learning about what Nurdles (microplasrtics) are and how they can hurt wildlife, marinelife and our oceans.

Nurdles are a small plastic pellet used to create virtually anything plastic.

Nurdles come in all sorts of colors, and their size and shape make it very easy for marine life to mistake them for food. It’s been recorded that more than 220 species of marine animals ingest microplastics and plastic debris.

Mrs Wright and I would like to challenge you all to see how many nurdles you can collect from a beach clean. Find an area on a beach and use a sieve like the Trommel below to sieve out the sand and find the nurdles. Please bring them in a container after Feb Half Term, from 19th Feb to show us all.

The Nurdle Project run by Josh Beech are using a Trommel to sieve out the sand and find nurdles that are then turned in to other products like key rings.
